Meetings
The ASCCA hosts one major meeting each year, held in conjunction
with the ASA Annual Meeting, and is on the Friday before the ASA
commences. The Annual Meeting consists of a variety of plenary sessions,
research presentations, debates and experiences from other countries.

Call for Abstracts
Online submission available: April 29, 2008 - Closed - June 20, 2008
The American Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists invites electronic submission of abstracts for presentation at the ASCCA 21st Annual Meeting, which will take place on October 17, 2008 in Orlando, Florida. Abstracts will be graded competitively on the basis of scientific merit and will be selected for poster presentation. Your abstract presentation at the ASCCA Annual Meeting will not conflict with or preclude presentation at the ASA 2008 Annual Meeting, which immediately follows the ASCCA Annual Meeting.
I invite you to encourage your residents, fellows, and young faculty member colleagues to submit an abstract for presentation. Abstracts submitted by Residents should be marked accordingly by checking the appropriate box on the online submission form. Abstracts presented by Residents will be identified as such in the poster session.

Young Investigator Award
This award is presented annually to the resident or fellow whose research exemplifies the Society’s mission to educate anesthesiologists in the care of critically ill patients and to foster the knowledge and practice of critical care medicine by anesthesiologists. The recipient of the Young Investigator Award will be asked to make an oral presentation of their work at the ASCCA Annual Meeting. Please indicate your interest to be considered for this award by checking the respective box on the online submission form. |

Annual Meeting 2005:
The 2005 meeting was cancelled due to the devastation caused by
Hurricane Katrina.
Annual Meeting 2004:
The 17th Annual Meeting was held on October 22, 2004 at the Riviera
Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Highlights included the
presentation "Bombs, Beans and Band-aids: Insights into Nutrition
Support in the ICU " by Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient
Michael J. Murray, M.D., Ph.D., the presentation of the Joint
ASCCA/SCCM Anesthesia Section ‘Burchardi Award’ to
Douglas B. Coursin, M.D. and introduction of Research Award Recipient
Guido Musch, M.D.
